ลักษณะทั่วไป

ตำลึงเป็นใบเถาเลื้อย มีอายุหลายปี เป็นพืชตระกูลเดียวกับบวบ น้ำเต้า และแตงกวา เถามีลักษณะกลมสีเขียว ผิวเรียบไม่มีขนรูปร่างคลาย 5 เหลี่ยม ขอบใบเว้าลึกเป็นแฉก ปลายแผ่กว้างออกเป็น 5 กลีบ ดอกออกตรงซอกใบ

สรรพคุณทางยา

- ตำลึง เถา รสจืดเย็น เป็นยาเย็นดับพิษ แก้ตาช้ำ ปวดตาได้

- ตำลึง ใบ แก้ปวดแสบปวดร้อน แก้คัน แก้ไข้หวัด ถอนพิษไข้ ใช้ผสมยาเขียว แก้พิษจากขนพืชหรือสัตว์ต่างๆได้

สรรพคุณทางยา

- ดีปลีใช้แก้อาการท้องอืด ท้องเฟ้อ ปวดท้อง และอาการคลื่นใส้ อาเจียนที่เกิดจากธาตุไม่ปกติ โดยใช้ผลดีปลีแก่แห้ง 1 กำมือ(ประมาณ 10-15ผล) ต้มเอาน้ำดื่ม ถ้าไม่มีผลใช้เถาต้มแทนได้

- ดีปลี ใช้แก้อาการไอ และขับเสมหะ โดยใช้ผลแห้งแก่ประมาณ ครึ่งผล ฝนกับน้ำมะนาวแทรกเกลือเล็กน้อย กวาดคอ หรือจิบบ่อยๆ
